The Wednesday wheeler’s

May 8th, 2025

Back in 2018 I was asked by a professional cyclist friend of mine and his family if I had any thoughts on setting up a local cycling group. He thought I would be the Ideal person to do this and that it was very much needed. I got my thinking cap on and thought, why not!
I always rode alone on a Wednesday evening and thought a mid week ride with some company would be lovely. At first there was a small handfull of riders turning up and we would ride out to a pub, have some food and drink and all ride back together. I instantly saw how interacting with our customers outside of shop hours could bring our local community together and potentially bring our family business more trade. For me, it's all about bringing people together and them meeting new people and us all enjoying our cycling. After about three or four years this cycling group started to grow and we're now regularly seeing 20-30 riders turning up. This has honestly brought tears of joy to my eyes on many occassions. I have met some fantastic ladies and gentlemen who are now our customers and very good friends. Because I'm so very passionate about our family business and all I do within the cycling Industry, I decided to give this very special cycling group a name, which I've called The Wednesday wheeler's. I have not only designed custom clothing for them, I have also given them loyalty cards, so that when they shop with us they can receive discounts when possible. On top of this we use our local pubs and restaurants so that they, in this very difficult time can prosper too.
