It was wonderful to see Paul again today to finish off fitting him to his Caygill road bike. I started the bike fit a week ago but I needed a specific part that I didn't have in stock so I had to stop and plan another date for when the part arrived to then finish the fit.
Paul has shopped with us for many years and I have fitted him before to his Scott mountain bike, but he has always wanted a Caygill road bike. Paul managed to find a second hand one that he thought would suit him on E-bay that needed some tlc. He messaged the seller up in Scotland and after a few chats with him he decided he'd purchase it. When I met Paul with his Caygill bike we discussed it staying with us for a full service and the parts it would need for it to be safe and ready for the road. We also discussed 'a bike fit' I said the best Idea would be to pick the bike up after its service and to see how things feel on the road, then if he needed me to carry out a bike I can do so at any time. I mentioned that this way Paul may be able to save some money, and not need a bike fit if he was happy with how it feels.
After a few rides Paul did think he needed a bike fit with me so he got in touch.
Paul I wish you many happy miles on your Caygill bike and I hope to see you out on the road one day and to pedal along side you.
Thank you so very much for the sweets and biscuits, you really shouldn't have but it was such a lovely gesture.
