It was lovely to meet up with Lou last night in The Town Hall Pub to talk about our first weekend, daytime ride for this year, which will be Saturday 1st of November.
We spoke about everything from the start time, the distance, the route, the cafe stop and for Lou to have some help from another fellow Wednesday Wheeler along the way. Depending on how many riders turn up will depend on how many groups will set off. If there's less than ten riders we'll stick to one group with Lou leading the group and Chris Bethell being at the back of the group. This will ensure no one is dropped and cars will be able to pass from behind as soon as possible. Although I will be chatting about this on Saturday morning I'd like to ask all riders to stay behind Lou, apart from one rider at any given time to be alongside her. This is a sociable 'Group ride' not a race.
I'm asking all riders to be at our shop for 9am.
There will be a quick brief whilst we all enjoy coffee's, tea's and croissant's before you all set off.
Please see the route and mileage below.
There will be a stop in Masham for food and drink just after half way.
It would be Ideal if you could all turn up with mudguards on your bikes, but I realise this won't be possible for everyone.
All are welcome, all we ask is that you are capable of this distance with some hills along the way.
I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday morning at 9am.
Please note:
This is an informal social ride and not a professionally guided one.
Everyone is responsible for their own safety and responsible for their own equipment (bike). Everyone should look out for each other, and most importantly we want everyone to enjoy themselves! If you haven't yet signed a liability waiver, please make sure you sign up on the day.
